DIY: Revamping Your Desk or Makeup Vanity

It’s FINALLY Friday!!!  Yayyy!!!  As I mentioned in my last post,  I’ve been working on a few small projects around the house and it’s great to finally have time to get around to them (you can see my last project here).  My next project was to get my desk painted and look all purrty!  Needless to say I was so excited to get started. 😀

With the help of my girlfriends (and good taste in style 😉 ),  we all agreed on this beautiful mint green color.  The paint I used is called “Minty” (naturally) by Valspar.  Once I showed my husband the finished look, he said it reminded him of mint chocolate chip icecream 🙂 and indeed it does! haha (in a good way 😉 ) He loved it too!

I think the addition of the revamped stool looks beautiful with my minty green desk, don’t you?? 😀 I added some vanity lights above the mirror and spray painted it a dark bronze as well as the hardware on the desk.  Overall, this project was a $75 makeover.  Not too shabby I’d say.  The lighting was the most expensive part of this project.

  1. I love this! If you don’t mind me asking, is there a specific type of paint that you used? I plan to paint a desk as well and I was wondering. Also, where did you purchase the light set from? I’m assuming the bulbs are daylight white bulbs? Thank you so much in advance!
